    Our Designs

Excelling at woodwork at school, Terry found his creative calling at a young age. Like all great beginnings, his professional journey began in the family garage where he made handmade furniture from reclaimed materials.

Since moving to the historic site of Weyhill Farm twenty years ago, Terry has continued to develop his eye for timeless beauty, designing and producing beautiful furniture, shepherd huts for local clients as well as partnering with national and international luxury retail brands.

Not one to self promote, Terry has spent most of his career as possibly one of Hampshire's best kept secrets. With support from his partner, Samantha, this all changed after they met in 2020 and together developed a range of original, biophilic steam-curved designs which Terry continues to build on.

  • Our Team

Over the last 40 years, Terry Lynch Handmade has accumulated a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship.

Terry’s obsession with product quality permeates throughout the team. He takes enormous pride in sharing his knowledge and helping develop outstanding artisan woodworkers, many of whom have worked with Terry for most of their career and are much valued members of the team.

Our team of highly creative, experienced joiners hand-make every item with enduring quality and sustainable sourcing at its core.

  • Responsibly Sourced

    Responsibly Sourced

We have deep knowledge of the materials we use and our supply chain which is why we only use sustainably-grown timber (FSC or GIB certified) or PEFC wood and materials sourced from local suppliers to minimise our product’s carbon footprint.

Whilst sustained supply of the materials we use is vitally important to our business and the planet, we believe that our role to sustain supply goes beyond raw materials.

The timber we use comes from the biggest plants on our planet: trees; trees are an integral part of an intricate natural ecosystem and it is this ecosystem that we need to protect and nurture.

Terry and Samantha are passionate about wildlife conservation and, for this reason, we proudly support Flora and Fauna International, the world’s oldest international wildlife conservation charity, focused on conserving threatened species and ecosystems worldwide. Our journey to create original feature pieces for landscapes and interiors started by looking to Nature for inspiration. We adopted the horticultural system of using Latin for our design names to reflect the unique, biophilic characteristics of each piece.

Sam

“We are lucky to live in a conservation area; surrounded by an abundance of organically curved shapes and ‘rhythms‘ - the outstretched branches of a tree, the ridged hull of a seed pod, the slender tendrils of a climbing plant, the downward spiral of a falling leaf, we draw design inspiration directly from Nature.”
