Arcus Bench
A nod to nautical design, this bench was inspired by Terry’s son’s love of boats. The Arcus lends itself beautifully to be used as a central focal feature and can be enjoyed from all angles.
Made from solid oak with a ‘quarter-sawn’ seat, symmetrical steam-curved ‘arc‘ slats (which give the bench its name), surround a jet black frame. For the internal frame we use the traditional Japanese ‘charred’ wood technique to give it definition and added durability. ‘Yaki’ (fire treatment), is a natural process that ‘locks in’ the carbon making the timber water, insect and fungi resistant. Add to that, on close inspection, the timber takes on an almost ‘alligator skin’ finish (as can be seen here in the product images).
The Arcus is treated with a specialist natural oil blend (to maintain the rich caramel colour), as standard. However, the exterior can be left 'natural' to silver down over time.
Price excludes delivery.
